Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 August 2026
1. Overview
This website and online store are operated by Maryia Asenenka, trading as Petal Ritual (“Petal Ritual”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
Our store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform that enables us to offer our products and services to you.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain the conditions that apply when you access our website, place an order or otherwise use our services. They should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Returns and Cancellations Policy, Shipping Policy and any product-specific information displayed on our website.
By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
2. Eligibility and customer information
You must be at least 18 years old or have the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian to place an order.
You agree to provide current, accurate and complete information when placing an order. This includes your email address, delivery address, billing information and any personalisation or design instructions required to create your product.
We are not responsible for delays or problems caused by inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you. If you notice an error after placing an order, contact hello@petalritual.co.uk as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that changes can be made after production has started.
If customer accounts are available, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity conducted through your account.
3. Our products
Petal Ritual products are handmade to order using natural dried and preserved flowers, plants and related materials.
Because natural materials vary, each finished product will be unique. Variations in colour, size, shape, texture and placement are expected and are not normally considered faults. Product colours may also appear differently depending on your screen and device settings.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that photographs, dimensions and descriptions accurately represent our products. However, handmade products may not be exactly identical to photographs or previous examples.
Natural materials may vary according to season and availability. We may use a carefully selected alternative of a similar colour, style, quality and value where a particular material is unavailable. We will contact you before making a substitution that would significantly alter the agreed design or overall appearance.
Measurements are approximate unless expressly stated otherwise.
4. Made-to-order and personalised products
All Petal Ritual products are made to order. Some products are also personalised or created according to customer-selected colours, names, wording, measurements, designs or other individual specifications.
Please check all names, dates, spellings, colours, measurements and other selections carefully before submitting your order. We create personalised products using the information you provide and are not responsible for customer-submitted spelling or specification errors.
Personalised and custom-made products cannot normally be returned because of a change of mind once production has started. This does not affect your rights if a product is faulty, damaged, not as described or different from what you ordered.
Further information is available in our Returns and Cancellations Policy.
5. Product care and safety
Dried and preserved flowers are delicate. Some shedding, fading and movement may occur naturally over time.
Unless a product description expressly states otherwise, our products:
-
Are intended for indoor decorative use only.
-
Must be kept dry and protected from humidity.
-
Should be kept away from direct sunlight to reduce fading.
-
Must be kept away from candles, flames, heat sources and other ignition risks.
-
Are not edible and must not be consumed.
-
Should be kept out of reach of young children and pets.
-
May contain natural plant materials, pollen, dyes, preservatives or fragrances that could cause sensitivity or allergic reactions.
Customers are responsible for following any product-specific care or safety instructions supplied with their order.
Petal Ritual is not responsible for deterioration or damage caused by improper handling, unsuitable storage, exposure to water, excessive humidity, direct sunlight, heat or failure to follow the care instructions.
6. Orders and contract formation
When you submit an order, you are offering to purchase the products in your basket.
After placing an order, you will receive an acknowledgement email. This acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that we have accepted your order.
A contract is formed when we confirm that your order has been accepted or begin creating the ordered product, whichever occurs first.
We may refuse or cancel an order where:
-
A product or required material is unavailable.
-
There is an obvious pricing or description error.
-
Payment cannot be authorised.
-
We cannot fulfil the requested design or delivery requirements.
-
We reasonably suspect fraud, misuse or unlawful activity.
-
The order breaches these Terms.
If we cannot accept an order after payment has been taken, we will notify you and issue a refund for the affected product.
7. Cancellations and changes
You may request a cancellation or amendment within 24 hours of placing your order by emailing hello@petalritual.co.uk.
After 24 hours, materials may have been selected and production may have started. Because our products are made to order, personalised or created to your selected specifications, we may be unable to accept a cancellation or amendment after this point.
If production has not started, we may agree to a later cancellation or amendment at our discretion.
Our full conditions for cancellations, damaged products and returns are set out in our Returns and Cancellations Policy.
Nothing in these Terms limits any cancellation right that applies by law.
8. Prices and payment
Prices are displayed in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise.
Prices include applicable UK taxes where required. Delivery charges are displayed separately before you complete your order.
For international orders, the customer may be responsible for local import duties, customs charges or taxes imposed by the destination country. These charges are not controlled by Petal Ritual and are not included unless expressly stated at checkout.
We may change our prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted.
Payment must be made using one of the methods available at checkout. Payments are processed securely by Shopify and the relevant payment provider. We do not receive or store complete payment-card details.
If an obvious pricing error occurs, we may contact you to offer the option of purchasing at the correct price or cancelling the order for a full refund.
9. Production and delivery
Production and dispatch estimates are shown on the relevant product page or during checkout. Because every product is handmade to order, production times are separate from delivery times.
Any stated production or delivery date is an estimate unless we have expressly agreed to a specific guaranteed date in writing.
We are responsible for the order until it is delivered to you or to a person you have identified to receive it. We are not responsible where you instruct a delivery provider to leave a parcel in a nominated safe place and it is delivered according to those instructions.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Additional delivery charges may apply if an order is returned because the address supplied was incorrect or incomplete, or because delivery was not accepted or collected.
If your parcel is delayed, missing or damaged during delivery, contact hello@petalritual.co.uk as soon as possible so that we can investigate.
For time-sensitive orders, including weddings and events, you are responsible for ordering sufficiently early and allowing reasonable time for production and unexpected delivery delays.
10. Damaged, faulty or incorrect products
Please inspect your order after delivery.
If it arrives damaged, faulty or different from what you ordered, contact hello@petalritual.co.uk as soon as possible. Include your order number, a description of the issue and clear photographs of the product and packaging.
Please keep the product and all packaging while we investigate. Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, we may offer a repair, replacement or refund.
Minor shedding and the natural variations described in these Terms are not normally considered faults. This does not exclude issues that materially affect the product or make it different from its description.
11. Workshops and events
Where workshops or event services are offered, additional terms concerning booking, payment, participant numbers, cancellations, venue requirements, travel and safety may apply.
These additional terms will be provided before the booking is confirmed. If there is a conflict between these Terms and written terms agreed for a particular workshop or event, the specific booking terms will take priority.
12. Intellectual property
The content of this website—including our photographs, product designs, text, graphics, videos, branding and logo—is owned by or licensed to Petal Ritual and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may view and use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, republish, sell or commercially use our content without prior written permission.
Sharing a link to our website or sharing our published social-media content through the platform’s normal sharing functions is permitted, provided that Petal Ritual is appropriately credited and the content is not altered or used misleadingly.
Shopify’s name, branding and technology remain the property of Shopify or its licensors.
13. Reviews and customer content
If you submit a review, photograph, comment or other content to us, you confirm that:
-
You created it or have permission to share it.
-
It is accurate and not misleading.
-
It does not infringe another person’s rights.
-
It is not unlawful, abusive, defamatory or harmful.
You retain ownership of your content. By deliberately submitting content for publication or promotion, you give Petal Ritual a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and share it in connection with our website, products and marketing.
We will not use privately supplied customer photographs for public marketing without permission.
We may remove content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive, irrelevant or infringes the rights of another person.
14. Acceptable use
You must not use our website:
-
For an unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
-
To submit false or misleading information.
-
To introduce viruses, malicious code or harmful technology.
-
To interfere with the website’s security or operation.
-
To collect other users’ personal information.
-
To impersonate another person or organisation.
-
To infringe our rights or the rights of another person.
-
To scrape, reproduce or commercially exploit website content without permission.
We may restrict access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.
15. Third-party services and links
Our website may contain links to, or features provided by, third-party websites and services.
We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of third-party websites that we do not control. You should review the relevant third party’s terms and policies before using its services or making a purchase.
16. Relationship with Shopify
Petal Ritual is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the website and online store.
Any purchase made through our store is a transaction directly between you and Maryia Asenenka, trading as Petal Ritual. Shopify is not the seller of Petal Ritual products and is not responsible for fulfilling your order or addressing product-related enquiries.
17. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information are explained in our Privacy Policy.
Because Shopify hosts our store, Shopify also processes certain information about your access to and use of the website. Further information is available in our Privacy Policy and Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy.
18. Website availability and errors
We aim to keep our website accurate, secure and available. However, we cannot guarantee that access will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
We may correct typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions and update website information where necessary. If an error affects an order you have already placed, we will contact you and explain the available options.
19. Liability and statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for:
-
Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
-
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
-
Breach of your statutory consumer rights.
-
Any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was formed, losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or business losses where you purchased as a consumer.
If you purchase products for commercial or business use, we will not be responsible for loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or anticipated savings, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
20. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations caused by events outside our reasonable control. These may include severe weather, transport disruption, postal or courier disruption, fire, flood, natural disaster, epidemic, government action or failure of telecommunications systems.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of such an event and will contact you where your order is materially affected.
21. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that part will be treated as removed only to the extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to our business, website or legal obligations.
The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Changes will not retrospectively alter an order already accepted unless required by law or agreed with you.
23. Governing law
These Terms and any contract between you and Petal Ritual are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory protections available under the law of the part of the UK in which you live and may bring proceedings in your local courts where applicable.
International customers may also have mandatory consumer rights under the laws of their country of residence that cannot be excluded by these Terms.
